The Threat of the Zika Virus

The World Health Organization has declared Zika Virus Disease as a global public health emergency.

The major threat of the Zika virus is to a pregnant woman and her unborn child.
If a mother to be is infected with the Zika virus during her pregnancy, her  unborn child becomes infected with that virus. The threat to the child is being born with birth defects linked to the Zika virus. Zika virus disease reportedly carried by mosquitoes has been linked to thousands of babies, having been born with underdeveloped brain

Neither a vaccine nor prophylactic medications are available to prevent the Zika virus infection as of this date.

What is Zika virus?

Zika virus is a mosquito-borne single-stranded RNA virus.
Symthoms:
fever, rash, joint pain, and red eye are said to be the most common symptoms.

How is Zika virus transmitted?

The spread of Zika virus can be transmitted through sexual contact. (New Update )

This information is based on the fact that a person living in the United States has been infected with the Zika Virus Disease through sexual contact with another person, after that individual returned from another country.

The Zika virus is transmitted to humans primarily from the bite of a mosquito after it has bitten an infected person who has the Zika Virus: When that same mosquito bites a human being, the Zika virus from the mosquito enters into that person’s blood. This person is now infected with Zika virus. It is fair to say that if this infected person is bitten by non- infected mosquitoes or other insects, this virus is passed on and transmitted to other human beings through bites and skin penetration from these Zika infected species. And now has been discovered to be transmitted from human to human through sexual contact.

This is the information from those who has been following the cases, of those who have been infected by the Zika virus. At this particular time, some are saying, there is very little information they can give on this virus.

“Zika virus is transmitted to humans primarily through the bite of an infected Aedes species mosquito. Aedes mosquitoes are aggressive daytime biters and feed both indoors and outdoors.  Zika virus can be transmitted from a pregnant mother to her fetus during pregnancy or around the time of birth. We do not know how often Zika perinatal transmission occurs. In the Americas, Zika virus is primarily transmitted by Aedes aegypti, but Aedes albopictus mosquitoes can also transmit the virus.”

Here is some helpful information Provided:

CDC recommends that all pregnant women consider postponing travel to areas where Zika virus transmission is ongoing (10). If a pregnant woman travels to an area with Zika virus transmission, she should be advised to strictly follow steps to avoid mosquito bites (11,12). Mosquitoes that spread Zika virus bite both indoors and outdoors, mostly during the daytime; therefore, it is important to ensure protection from mosquitoes throughout the entire day (13). Mosquito prevention strategies include wearing long-sleeved shirts and long pants, using U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)–registered insect repellents, using permethrin-treated clothing and gear, and staying and sleeping in screened-in or air-conditioned rooms. When used as directed on the product label, insect repellents containing DEET, picaridin, and IR3535 are safe for pregnant women (14,15). Further guidelines for using insect repellents are available online (http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/page/avoid-bug-bites) (11,15).

Drug-Resistant Germs

The outlook for drug resistant germs means a threat of new diseases.
Hospitals throughout the world are faced with the threat of new diseases, due to the most potent antibiotics on the market, are becoming weaker. Many germs are resistant to every known drug. The spread of drug-resistant microorganisms have the infectious disease experts concerned.
There are presently more than 100 antibiotics on the market. In the past, doctors have been able to use them as alternates. The fear is that there will come a day when there will not be any alternates to prescribe. Their concern is for patients who receive antibiotics to treat diseases caused by drug-resistant germs, is the inconvenience and financial loss that ends in no cures.

Post - Traumatic Stress Disorder

The etiology of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is related to a traumatic experience that happened to an individual or is one they witnessed. If an individual has experienced a traumatic event, such as a near death situation or has been in a situation such as a soldier fighting on a battle field where psychological trauma occurs, it can have a serious affect on that individual's mind and health. For many years after wars, our soldiers have informed of the symptoms of PTSD, but they weren't taken seriously. Many have suffered silently. They felt that no one cared. And who can blame them? Also, in some cases of near drowning and sexual assaults, some of these individuals have reported symptoms of PTSD. This is a very serious health condition that many people suffer from.

I'm going to address stress, because  it is the cause of depression and anxiety. It  is a mental or emotional pressure within the mind that is the root cause of mental disorders. As a nurse I worked with both young and older patients who suffer from mental disorders. Many of the medications, dosage had to be increased due to after a period of time, the present dosage no longer helped. Then there were times when the patient became over medicated and became too drowsy. And of course, some of the medications didn't help any.

Symptoms of Depression:                                 Symptoms of Anxiety:
Worrying                                                              Worrying, irritability
Low energy level                                                  Fear for no reason
Low sexual interest                                              Pounding heart
Forcing oneself to get things done                       Frequent head aches
Irritability                                                               Trouble sleeping
Poor concentration                                              Restlessness
Feeling of hopelessness                                      Poor concentration
Depressed moods                                               Indigestion

Imitation Love: How it Relates To Health

Nakema McKnight
Owner/Instructor at Cut It Up Hair Gallery

True-Lust is an emotion that comes to offset love. It is truly the enemy of Love because it tries to take love's place in your heart. You can be in love with a person, but then another person can come along to try to imitate love and distract you from the real love. That's why God is against adultery, because when you cheat on your spouse, you are really imitating the love you really have, and breaking your commitment to them. And you also hurt them to the point, where you feel that you may not have really been in love with them in the first place.

When you do that, God is angry because he knows that the lust you are feeling is not of his spirit and it will not last, but you may desire to break off your real love because the lust has caused you to doubt it! Lust does not last! Love does! If you act on lust, it will bring forth sin and sin punishes itself in the natural and then punishes eternally in the afterlife.

The enemy has fruits of his own spirit, and lust is one of them. When you are in love with someone, the enemy will come along to break up that love. He is the enemy of love, because he has never loved, and cannot love! He cannot love because love is God and if he loved, it would bring glory to the father of love, GOD! So, he tries to plant his spiritual seeds into your mind and heart by creating lust for forbidden things. But understand, God is not forbidding you to lust or commit sexual perversions because he wants to stop your fun, but God is trying to save your life.

Diseases, murder, loneliness, heartaches, discontentment, low self worth, bitterness, shamefulness, and spiritual death are all consequences of acting on lust. God wants you full of joy and living above all these things. He doesn't want you to grow the fruit of the devils seeds, but he wants you to live according to his promises! So, he defies lust with true love, and when we really love, we will defy lust and follow the real love that we have for one another.

When Research Is Questioned, Who Can Be Trusted?

Author /Medical Professional /
Product Consultant

In each of these recent medical news reports, there is need for concern that the truth about research has not been told. Because of lack of truth about medical research, many lives are placed at risk. Most people are happy to invest money and time in research. And don't mind their tax dollars being used for finding cures, but what angers me and others, is this nonsense that's going on in some research. When we have researchers lying about their findings and misleading doctors, who depend upon their knowledge to provide patients with the best possible treatments, we should not excuse such behavior.

Listed below, are two medical news reports, that I have read within the last month or so. I have labeled them as, Case #1 and Case #2.

Since the information in Case # 2, has come out, some in the medical profession, are speaking negative  about this report, and are not willing to accept it. They are charging ahead to downplay this report. And continues to promote prostate cancer screening as before, using the same methods.

A few days ago, someone called our home, and said, they did a prostate cancer screening test on blood that was drawn from my husband 16 days ago, and that he was at high risk for prostate cancer. She said, they had arranged an appointment for him to see the urologist he saw a few days ago, when he had his blood drawn. None of this information was true. My husband had never seen the urologist she named. Neither had he ever been at that facility. Using scare tactics, to get people to get tests, are shameful and pathetic.

Having worked with some of the very best doctors in Urology, I knew something strange was going on. And I let her know it. Lying and using patients insurance companies, to get money, seems to be a reason behind some of our researchers motives as well as some others in the medical profession. This is inexcusable, for people to lie as this individual did.

Who can patients believe when researchers and doctors are in conflict with one another?

Case #1
New Discovery Shakes the Foundation of Cancer Research
Date: October 15, 2011
Posted by a medical source

The Office of Research Integrity at the U.S. Department of Health, reportedly, found that a Boston University cancer scientist fabricated his findings.  According to this report, this scientist has been ordered to retract the two journals he published  in the year of 2009. It is believed that those scientists who based their work on his findings, could now be in possession of 10 years of worthless studies.
Noted, in a commentary health source report.

The source of this information further stated, “It seems fairly evident that the cancer industrial complex is a highly lucrative, well-oiled system that tends to support funding expensive drug treatments that don't address the cause of the problem, and have yet to make a significant dent in the decrease of the overall cancer rate in the US despite investing hundreds of billions of dollars. Much of the support comes from flawed and biased "research" studies that support the use of expensive drugs as detailed in the featured articles.”

Case #2
Panel advises against prostate cancer screening
Date: October 08, 2011
Posted by news source
Media: News Report

A government panel warned publicly, that prostate cancer screening do more harm than good. They informed, healthy men should no longer receive the tests as part of routine cancer screening.’
New recommendation:   advice healthy  men of all ages to avoid getting the routine cancer screening.

"We have been long concerned, and it has been apparent for some years, that some supporters of prostate cancer screening have overstated, exaggerated and in some cases misled men about the evidence supporting its effectiveness," said the physician of American Cancer Society in a statement. "We need balanced, truthful information to be made widely available to physicians and patients when making important health decisions."
Noted this news source.

The task force reportedly, analyzed all the previous research on  Prostate cancer screening, including five major studies, to evaluate whether routine screening reduces deaths from prostate cancer. The conclusion: There's little if any mortality benefit.
But there is harm from routine screening:  impotence, incontinence, infections, even death that can come from the biopsies, surgery and radiation, (the task force leader reportedly informed)

A  large number of men over 50 have had at least one PSA blood test, believing that that finding cancer In its early stage would lead to a cure. According to this report.

"This is not true," a medical professional, who heads a task force at a college was quoted saying.  According to my source of information, this medical professional informed, "We have put a huge amount of time, effort and energy into PSA screening and that time, effort and energy, that passion, should be going into finding a better test instead of using a test that doesn't work."
In conclusion, the head of the task force was quoted saying the following:

The recommendation only means that doctors shouldn't bring up the option for healthy men. If a man asks for a PSA test and wants it after being informed of the evidence, he should receive it.  Further stating,  Panel advises against prostate cancer screening symptoms.

Too much PSA, or prostate-specific antigen, in the blood only sometimes signals prostate cancer is brewing. It also can mean a benign enlarged prostate or an infection. Worse, screening often detects small tumors that will prove too slow-growing to be deadly. And there's no sure way to tell in advance who needs aggressive therapy.

Since this report, there have been those who continue to want these tests done, and voicing  their support for them.
This report, leaves us with doubt about what is truth and what is false reporting on the findings of the researchers.  Should doctors be trusted to ignore the advice of the panel when they warn against using treatments that are harmful? When research is questioned, who can be trusted?

Gout is a metabolic disease. The symptoms are acute, and are those of arthritis. They are noted as inflammation of the joints. This disease usually begins in the knee or foot. Some Biblical Scholars believed that King Asa suffered from a serious illness of gout. He received medical treatment for the disease, but later it took his life. It was said that his affliction was in his foot.

According to studies, Several different metabolic normalities may cause
Hyperuricemia. Excessive uric acid in blood and deposits of urates of sodium in and around joints are noted. It is recommended that those who suffers from gout, should drink plenty of fluids to prevent their urine from becoming concentrated.

Spread & Symptoms of Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Written by Ellen J. Barrier

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) are diseases that can be transmitted  to other human beings by Sexual behavior (anal, oral or vaginal) an infected person can spread the infection to others without actually showing signs of the disease.
Other Names for Sexually Transmitted Diseases:
Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)
Venereal  Disease (VD)

A sexually transmitted disease (STD), also known as a sexually transmitted infection (STI), or venereal disease (VD), is an illness that has a significant probability of transmission through sexual behavior.

Diseases & Related Conditions:
Bacterial Vaginosis - an infection which symptoms include an odorous vaginal discharge. The vaginal odor may be fish like, and grey in color.

1    Chlamydia - Chlamydia is a silent sexually transmitted disease, caused by Chlamydia trachomatis bacterium. The disease can  affect about three quarters of women and half of men without them knowing they have it.  Parts of the  body  infected:  rectum, urethra, eyes, liver, throat and lungs. In worst cases, it can cause infertility.

Gonorrhea- a disease affecting the sex organs that is passed on by sexual contact.

Hepatitis Viral - a group of viral infections that affect the liver . The most common types are Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.

Viral hepatitis, is the leading cause of liver cancer and the most common reason for liver transplantation. An estimated 4.4 million Americans are living with chronic hepatitis; most do not know they are infected. About 80,000 new infections occur each year.

Herpes (Genital) – a sexually transmitted disease caused by the herpes simplex virus. It affect the genital and anal regions with painful blisters.
There is no cure for herpes. Treatment can reduce symptoms and decrease the risk of transmission through sexual contact.

HIV/AIDS & STDs: (C.D.C Report)
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Infection- More than 100 types of HPV exist, more than 40 of which can infect the genital area. Most HPV infections are asymptomatic, unrecognized, or subclinical. Oncogenic, or high-risk HPV types (e.g., HPV types 16 and 18), are the cause of cervical cancers. These HPV types are also associated with other anogenital cancers in men and women, including penile, vulvar, vaginal, and anal cancer, as well a subset of oropharyngeal cancers (404). Nononcogenic, or low-risk HPV types (e.g., HPV types 6 and 11), are the cause of genital warts and recurrent respiratory papillomatosis. Asymptomatic genital HPV infection is common and usually self-limited; it is estimated that more than 50% of sexually active persons become infected at least once in their lifetime (405). Persistent oncogenic HPV infection is the strongest risk factor for development of precancers and cancers.

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) - PID occurs when certain bacteria, such as chlamydia or gonorrhea, move upward from a woman's vagina or cervix (opening to the uterus) into her reproductive organs.

Syphilis- Signs and symptoms of syphilis include a firm, round, small, and painless sore on the genitals, anus, or mouth, or a rash on the body, especially on the palms of the hands or the soles of the feet. Syphilis is easy to cure in its early stages.

Trichomoniasis-The infection often has no symptoms although women are more likely than men to get symptoms. You may notice an unusual genital discharge.
Trichomoniasis is a common sexually transmitted disease (STD) that is easy to cure.
Without treatment, trichomoniasis can increase a person’s risk of acquiring HIV.

Other Transmittable Diseases:
Lymphogranuloma Venereum (LGV) -  LGV (Lymphogranuloma venereum) is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by three strains of the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. The visual signs include genital papule(s) (e.g., raised surface or bumps) and or ulcers, and swelling of the lymph glands in the genital area.  LGV may also produce rectal ulcers, bleeding, pain, and discharge, especially among those who practice receptive anal intercourse.
Pubic Lice Infestation   ("crab") - Pubic lice infestations  are usually spread through sexual contact.
Pubic lice typically are found attached to hair in the pubic area but sometimes are found on coarse hair elsewhere on the body; eyebrows, eyelashes, beard, mustache, chest, armpits, etc.
Scabies - The most common symptoms of scabies are intense itching and a pimple-like skin rash. The scabies mite usually is spread by direct, prolonged, skin-to-skin contact with a person who has scabies.

Scabies can spread rapidly under crowded conditions where close body contact is frequent. Institutions such as nursing homes, extended-care facilities, and prisons are often sites of scabies outbreaks.
