In Honor of Someone Who Died of Cancer

In honor of someone who died of cancer, survived, or who is fighting against it.

                                                                   Sonja Cain Barrier

Stupid cancer. We all want a new car, a new phone. A person who has cancer only wants one thing... to survive. I know that a lot of you "who think you're too cool" probably won't re-post this. But a very little amount of my friends will. Put this on your wall in honor of someone who died of cancer, survived, or who is fighting against it.

"In memory of my mother Wanda, my sister Donna, mother-in-law Lee, father-in-law Roy, Aunt Alma, Aunt Pat, Uncle Tom, Cousin Anne, Cousin Pat and many more" and "To the survivors, myself, my sister Cyndy, my sister Sheryl, my niece Whitney, many other friends who are fighting right now."

Endometriosis

Ellen J. Barrier

Endometriosis is a condition whereby an ectopic endometrium is located in various sites throughout the pelvis or in the abdominal wall.

Medical Terminology:

Endometriosis  Direct __  invasion of the myometrium by the mucous membrane lining the uterus.
(adenomyoma  of the wall of the uterus ) is a tumor containing glandular and smooth muscular tissue.
Endometriosis Transplantation__Endometriosis taking place within an abdominal incision scar following pelvic surgery.
Endometriosis Metastatic__ Extraperitoneal lesions resembling metastatic pelvic carcinoma.
Endometriosis Peritoneal__Endometrial tissue found throughout the pelvis

Endometritis
This is an inflammation of the endometrium, produced by a bacterial invasion.
Symptoms: (acute) pain in the lower back and abdomen, constipation, sterility,
dysmenorrhea (painful or difficult menstruation) menorrhagia (excessive bleeding)
bloody discharge (a scant amount is seen in chronic endometritis)

Medical Terminology:
Endometritis Cervical __Inflammation of the inner portion of the cervix uteri.
Endometritis Decidual__ Inflammation of the mucous membrane of a gravid uterus.
Endometritis Dissecans__ Endometritis accompanied by the development of ulcers and shedding of mucous membrane.
Endometritis Puerperal__Acute endometritis following the birth of a child.

*Acute__ the pain is sharp, having a rapid onset, severe and is of a short course.

Endometrium
The mucous membrane lining the inner surface of the uterus. It is supplied by two types of arteries: straight arteries and spiral arteries.
The straight arteries supply the third (basal layer) of the endometrium.
The spiral arteries supply the spongy and compact layers of the endometrium.
Changes are noted in response to hormonal stimulation, during menstrual cycles. They begin with the onset of menses (between ages 10 and 17 which is thought to be normal) ending at menopause.

How to Trust God When All Other Resources Have Failed
There are other related forms of depression noted in this book; Psychosis and Manic. Also, the types of Schizophrenia are discussed. I share an experience with my readers from my early childhood memories, one which shows the connection of stress and suicide in this particular case.
If stress isn't controlled, it can lead to psychological and physical harm.

Marriage is honourable  in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
Hebrews 13:4 (K.J.V)

1.   Webster's New World College Dictionary:
whoremonger- a man who has sexual intercourse or associates with whores.

2.   New International Version:
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure,
for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

*Root word: Whore-–noun 1. a woman who engages in promiscuous sexual intercourse, usually for money; prostitute; harlot; strumpet. – verb (used without object) 2. to act as a whore.
Note:  Being that some males as well as females, perform a service,  whereby they are paid for sex,  number  l, in the definition should  say, an individual  who engages in promiscuous sexual intercourse.

I.   God’s Laws for Marriage:

a.     Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery
         Exodus 20:14 (K.J.V)

b.     Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thou neighbor’s wife,
nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox nor his ass, nor anything
         that is thy neighbor’s.
          Exodus 20:17 (K.J.V)

II.   The Damage Caused by Adultery:

a.     To engage in extra-marital affairs can cause transmittable diseases to spread
        to others.
b.     There is a danger of causing physical harm to others due to unfaithfulness in
        a marriage.
c.     It destroys trust and weakens the relationship between the husband and wife.

d.     Destroys relationships with family members.

There have been  incidents, where a spouse  found out about an affair between their spouse and another individual - either killed the two individuals or one of them.
Often times, it breakup families –the ones who suffer the most are the children. They have to learn to live without both parents in the same home, watching them grow, and doing things with them, the way marriage was designed by God, to be.

Teachers are able to see the negative affect of an extra-marital affair on a student. It interferes with academic performance in school.  It is never just between the husband and wife. It is between the husband, wife and children.

God’s Example for Parents:

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.  Genesis 18: 19 (K.J.V)

God’s Promise to Men & Women:

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that ye may boldly say, The Lord is my helper and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Hebrews 13:5, 6 (K.J.V)

Note:  More than likely, every marriage will face the temptation, to submit to an extra-marital affair. None of us are immune to temptations. However, there is a stiff penalty to pay. God will not accept the notion, this is something that we can't control.

Sleep Apnea

Ellen J. Barrier

Sleep Apnea, is a serious condition to many like myself, who have experienced it.
This is a condition that robs an individual of their sleep. And can be life threatening. It can cause death to occur during sleep. Not only does this condition occur in older individuals, it occurs in the very young. In the young, it is oftentimes called nightmares.

Apnea as pertaining to breathing, is the cessation of breathing, usually of a temporary nature. It may result from reduction in stimuli, to the respiratory center as in over-breathing, in which carbon dioxide content of the blood is reduced; from failure of the respiratory center, to  discharge impulses as occurs when the breath is held voluntarily. Or during Cheyne-Stokes Respiration.

This condition should be taken seriously, especially, in those who have medical conditions such as arteriosclerosis, meningitis, coma, heart and kidney diseases, and brain injury, when a concussion has resulted.

Apnea has been noted in perfectly healthy children, and in people of older ages during sleep. Which is why it got the name “Sleep Apnea“. The symptoms are characterized by a gradual increase in breathing rate, until it ends in a gasp followed - by a gradual decrease until respiration ceases, then it begins again. Also, respiration can gradually increase in force and frequency and then suddenly cease.

Another name for apnea, is Respiration Cheyne-Stokes. Breathing in which respirations gradually increase in rapidity and volume until they reach climax, then gradually subside and cease entirely for 5 to 50 seconds, then they begin again. It is usually a forerunner of death, but may last for several months or a few days. This type of respiration is not necessarily associated with disease. It is observed in normal persons during sleep, especially older people. And has been noted in some people while visiting areas of moderately high altitude.

From my very own experience with sleep apnea, I know that during periods of stress, or fatigue, the attacks will become very frequent and severe. I found  a way to keep the attacks at minimum, and moderate, by exercising & relaxation. And learning how to deal with stress.
