Healthy Eating On Vacation

When you are on vacation, you may be surrounded by fast food options, theme parks filled with food such as cotton candy and funnel cakes, and a lack of exercise opportunities.  In addition, the long hours spent traveling by car or plane does not benefit a healthy lifestyle.  Fortunately, there are some tips and tricks you can take to make your vacation as healthy as possible.
Prior to Departure
Some of the worst eating on a vacation comes in the airport. For this reason it is extremely important to ensure that you eat a hearty and nutritious meal prior to your departure so that you don’t feel the need to indulge in the temptations in the airport. If you have a long layover make sure to pack along some healthy snacks that you can munch on. If need be try to navigate the airport to find a healthy salad or grilled chicken meal that will fill your belly while providing you with healthy essentials.
Researching Healthy Hotel Options
When you are planning your vacation, try to find a health conscious hotel and area. Pay special attention to amenities around the hotel and area, such as pools, fitness rooms, and breakfast included in the hotel.  This can be difficult but I’ve found is most effective by browsing various websites to research travel reviews.  When you read the reviews, try to discover what is included in the hotel breakfast.  Hotels often include a selection of yogurt and fruit in their continental breakfast, which is a healthy alternative to waffles and bacon. Ask about nearby walking trails or other fitness related activities that are within walking distance to your hotel.  These would be a good way to keep your fitness level up while you are away from home. I took a trip to Miami of late and found a great site that allowed me to read reviews regarding the hotels, restaurants, and even things to do. This helped me to find a work out class nearby on the beach in the morning right by my hotel!
Snacks for Your Hotel Room
If your hotel has a small refrigerator in the room, consider purchasing yogurt, string cheese, or fruits to keep in the room.  The protein and complex carbohydrates in the oatmeal and cheese will help keep you feeling full for a longer period of time. This will help you avoid the temptation of the hotel vending machine or room service when you get hungry.
Another idea to help you eat healthy and save money is to bring a small crockpot on your vacation. You can make simple and healthy meals in your hotel room, such as chicken, rice, and steamed vegetables.
Eating Out At Restaurants
When you do need to eat out on vacation, it can be hard to find healthy alternatives that taste good.  Look on the restaurant menu for key words such as baked, broiled, or grilled.  Ask for sauces on the side and remove the skin from chicken.  Making these small substitutions will save calories while not affecting the taste of your meal.
If you have a choice of a side dish with your meal, add extra steamed or fresh vegetables.  This will give you more food for a small amount of calories, and you will also get the added bonus of nutritious vitamins. If you do not feel like you are getting a wide variety of nutrients on vacation, consider bringing your regular multi-vitamin with to supplement your food choices.
By taking these tips into consideration when you are planning your vacation, you will be able to incorporate healthy food options into your trip and avoid calorie-laden junk food.  Bringing your own snacks, researching hotels, and smart restaurant choices are all things you can do to keep you healthy while on vacation.

How to Keep Healthy Skin

To keep healthy skin, it must be cared for properly.
How we treat our skin will determine its health.
For many years I spent several hours gardening daily during the summer months.
In the year of 2010, I noticed my skin started showing dryness and darkening.
I begin spending less time in my garden.  I wanted the healthy skin I once had.
I came to the conclusion that I had to stay out of the sun for this to happen.
In the year of 2011, I stopped gardening. When the weather is hot, I stay inside.
My skin texture, tone and hue, shows the success of a healthy diet, getting the proper rest, lowering my stress level, and staying out of the sun during the summer months, have been successful for me.

Freedom and Peace Requires an “All Hands on the World Approach”

To pursue freedom and peace, we must come together as one people to fight against things that prevent freedom and peace.   We start by taking an “All Hands on The World Approach”
Elect leaders who work to solve problems rather than cause them. All Leaders should be willing to Solve their differences with leaders of other countries peacefully.  War should not be an option in this modern day period.

Vote leaders out of their positions who are dividing the citizens by their bias behavior with certain people.  A leader should have the best interest of all the people in his or her plans to carry out the job he or she was elected to do.

Spiritual Leaders should always stand with the people and demand righteous behavior from elected politicians. When righteousness prevails, all of the people needs are met.

The Fight against Violence

It is clear that many young people are committing acts of violence against others, and destroying property.  This behavior is out of control. The teachings of moral values and personality traits have been ignored in many families. The results are a society of violent behavior that has made our world unsafe. Some parents are afraid of their children. This should never be the case.

Two Brothers Kicked of their Elementary School Due to Bad Behavior

The mother of these two children told me they are in third and fourth grade.  And that she does not understand why her children are so bad.  She said she has to teach them herself, because they are too bad for school.  Her problem is fear of being attacked by her sons.  She said when she went into their bedroom to get them up to begin their homework they chased her out, and told her to stay out of their room!  According to the mother, their father lives in the same house with the three of them.

Problems caused by out- of-control- behavior; that exists in many families are released into society.  The responsibility rests upon the shoulders of all of us to work together, and do the job these parents have not done. Those who have children in their care, the schools; and our spiritual leaders can help teach children and their parents, the importance of having respect for others, and for themselves.

Let's place our hands on the world, and work together for freedom, and justice for all people.
And peace will exist in the world.

*These are health issues we are dealing with worldwide: hunger, diseases, sicknesses, and loss of lives that makes this of a serious concern in the health industry and to others.

The Subconscious Mirror

You are the one who has to be in control of your life. You have to define who you are. If  you don't, someone else will.
We have the ability to write the blueprint for our own goals, and decide how we want to pursue them. If we allow others to do it for us, we won’t achieve our full potential to be the best we can be.
Through prayer we gain strength and hope.

Depression is a Cry for Help

Signs: worrying, irritability, ,sleeplessness, hopelessness, low energy and sadness.

Depression is a Cry for Help

The depressed person needs someone to trust.
He or she is in need of someone to open up to, and express
 their innermost feelings.

The need is to trust someone with his or her personal feelings.
They need a shoulder to lean on that is supportive and trustworthy.
Most people aren’t looking for advice. They only want someone who
will listen to them and understand their need, and is patient with them.
Meeting the depressed person at his or her point of need is important.

The depressed person can’t heal, by holding their feelings inside.
Willing to allow them to cry if they should tear up, letting them know
you are there for them is love expressed.
Sometimes Love is the best medicine.

Freedom and Peace

Without freedom, there is no peace.
The soul of the human being yearns for freedom and peace.
To experience the spirit of peace, one must have freedom.
Neither can be obtained without the other.

Exercise Is Not Enough

“My holy of holies is the human body; health, intelligence, talent, inspiration, love, and absolute freedom-freedom from violence and falsehood, no matter how the last two manifest themselves.” Anton Chekhov

When we view the statement above and the thoughts of the Apostle Paul on the human body, we can agree that exercise alone, is not enough to qualify for complete fulfillment of a healthy body;
that would include the mind and soul within each individual.

The Apostle Paul clearly believed that there are benefits for the body through exercising, but more is needed to fully benefit the whole person.  Paul stated “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” 1Timothy 4:8 (King James Version)

Spirituality plays an Important Role in Good Health

“Look to your health; and if you have it, praise God, and value it next to a good conscience; for health is the second blessing that we mortals are capable of; a blessing that money cannot buy.”
_Izaak Walton

Health is something that is very valuable and should never be taken for granted.  We should do all that is possible to take good care of our health. And encourage others to do the same. Prayers are always needed for God’s intervention, being that he is the one who designed our body.

In order for a person to be complete and to have a healthy body, a healthy diet, and a healthy mind is needed, along with a good exercising program.  When a person only exercise, eat unhealthy foods, and have no spiritual consciousness they will tire quicker, and their stress level will be higher.

Be blessed in health and happiness.
